The children were thrilled to wake up to 11 inches of snow this morning. It was even more exciting to learn that there was a two-hour delay for school. Woo hoo!
They quickly ate breakfast and bundled up to go out back and play. Johnny was mesmerized. He stood at the sliding glass doors and laughed hysterically when the kids threw snow balls at him. He squealed with delight as they shook the snow from the trees onto their heads. I sat on the couch with my cup of hot tea and enjoyed the view. The kids had a blast building snow forts and had a huge battle. They made a snow bear and tons of snow angles.
When they turned into icicles and the backyard looked like a war zone they all came back inside. We snuggled by the fireplace with cocoa and we read two chapters of Kidnapped together. It was a truly delightful morning.

What a wonderful morning. We had the opposite problem. Holly's school started on time and I had to fight traffic to get down there in time. Of course, we didn't get as much snow as you.
How did the swim party go? Can't believe you got 11 inches of snow! WOW!
