A few weeks ago my mom came with me to Joey's school's open house. Since she'll be watching the kids while I'm at school she wanted to be familiar with the staff and get the scoop on the homework and such. As I introduced her to a couple of my friends, one of them said, "Your daughter is the most spoiled 30 year old I've ever met." She's right. I'm spoiled.
My mom watches the kids whenever I ask. She drives them all over town. She signs them up and pays for piano and guitar lessons. She takes them on exotic vacations and loves them to pieces. At least one of them spends the night at her house every single weekend. Because of my mom, my children have never been in a daycare setting. Because of my mom, I am able to go to school.
She is dying to homeschool them. All of them. She was a teacher in the best school district in town for 20+ years and has too much experience observing teachers to feel comfortable leaving mine in their care.
There is a point...
My mom left a message on my voice mail this afternoon. She asked me to meet her after class. I was kind of tired and stressed out and really didn't feel like doing anything except going home, putting on my jammies and snuggling with my kids but I agreed and followed her directions to an unfamiliar address. She had made an appointment for us to get massages.
How sweet is that?! It was wonderful.
Tomorrow is my mom's 55th birthday. She'll spend it by watching my kids all day while I'm at school. lol

Wow. What a wonderful mom! I think it's great she's so involved with the kids.
I hope you enjoyed the massage... I know you deserved it.
