- Typed birth plan = C-section delivery and NICU stay
- Abruption=cocaine use
- When in doubt, check the fundus
- Most everyone poops or vomits during labor and delivery
- Using a Foley is a really cool way to check lung maturity
- "Ferning" looks like snowflakes
- Newborn intubation is very scary to watch
- It's amazing how things can go from "completely normal" to "really bad" in seconds.
- There is nothing comparable to sharing in the most precious moments of people's lives.
- Every baby is a blessing

Ah yes...the birth plan. I've seen only about a handful of them go as they wanted.
OB is a fun & scary place all at the same time. It's such an honor to be a witness to new life being brought into the world.
Newborn intubation is scary period! I hate hate hate when we have a bad baby! Ugh...those are the moments I want to change specialties! LOL!
