I ended up picking the kids up from school 15 minutes early and we all made it to our perspective destinations in time.
Johnny refused to nap for the sitter despite being extraordinary over tired from our super busy day. Of course this came as no surprise but I was disappointed nonetheless. All in all, things went okay. Tommy spilled an entire gallon of OJ on the kitchen floor. She did a remarkable job of cleaning up the floor and the boys. If it weren't for the outfit changes I never would have known about the accident. Johnny cried for "ma ma" for the entire 2 hours. :-( She said he would get distracted with a toy and then look up, see her, and start to sob again.
She was extremely patient and said she was looking forward to next week. I'm not sure that I'm all that thrilled with her ability to look me in the face and lie but I'll take it. :) She was very sweet and Thomas gave her a huge hug and said "I miss you Cami!" when it was time to take her home. John was thrilled to see her go.
I hope Johnny accepts her soon. I'm not sure what else I can do.
My mom called last night with an update on Aunt Betty. The doctor said Betty's kidney function is remarkably worse than last week and recommended starting her on dialysis. She refused. Uncle John, her dh, spent four years on dialysis. She is also thinking of ending her chemo treatments. I feel guilty for being so selfish. Betty needs my mom more than I do right now.
