Literature

I return to school on the 22nd of Jan.. I'm taking my final classes needed for my BSN, except for, well, the actual nursing classes. The system is so crazy. I've been on the wait-list for the nursing program for over two years. I'm guaranteed a spot in the next session. Unfortunately, they don't have a spring or summer session. :(

While I'm waiting for a spot in the program I took the rest of the classes needed for my BSN. That way when I graduate with my RN in 09 (whaaaa!). I'll only need three additional nursing classes, which I can take that summer, to complete my degree.

This semester I'm taking a strange variety of classes. I had to chooses from a very specific list of transferable humanities. I ended up with: Sociology, Music Appreciation, Basic ECG interpretation, CPR and first Aid (required to get into the program), and Literature.

This will be my first ever literature class. I've been day dreaming about the great literary works we might be reading. I pictured lively discussions about said novels. I couldn't wait to see the list of required books. I was going to run out and start reading immediately.

I received an email today stating the bookstore was now stocked for the spring semester. I quickly logged on to their site, excited and apprehensive of what books would be listed. I found a $90. text book. Ho hum I wanted Oprah's book club not a class and a text book. lol Oh well.

Good Luck Kristen!! 2009 will be here before you know it! I think you are doing the right thing by taking a few classes at time, that way you won't be so bogged down when you're in the actual nursing part of it.

I know you will be a fantastic nurse!!

2009 seems so far away, but I remember thinking the same thing about Brooke's finish date when she first posted it and it seemed like the time just flew by. Then again, I wasn't the one that had my nose in a book for all that time either. ;)

I know you'll be there before you know it though and you'll be a great nurse!
