Shopping

My main trepidation about joining the family for a ski trip tomorrow was that I didn't have proper gear. I only have two winter coats, one suede and one leather. I didn't have any waterproof gloves, hat or goggles either. I didn't really feel like shelling out a bunch of money for stuff I'll only use once or twice a year. My dad called and talked me into to going last night. He said I could find the needed gear in his basement :O and that once classes started I wouldn't have the opportunity to go.

I headed over there first thing this morning. He was right, they had tons of gear. As expected most of it was ~~groovy~~ retro. Thank goodness I didn't fit into any of the things dad had picked out for me. I'm sure I would have turned a few heads on the slopes. ;) I did find a snowboard jacket that belongs to my little brother's girlfriend that fit perfectly. She was happy to share it.

We then headed to Ross, Target, Sports Authority, and various local ski shops. Somewhere along our journey Johnny lost a shoe. I tried to retrace our steps but I'm not sure where it was lost. We were in and out of the car and the shopping buggies all day. It was a lost cause. :(

It's been a while since I've purchased ski gear for myself. I can't believe that woman's ski pants sell for $190+ Seriously, people pay that??? I eventually found a pair waaaaaaaaaaaaay in the back of a store marked down to $49 with an additional 50% off. It took all day but I ended up getting all the stuff I need for tomorrow's trip. Heck now that I have all the gear, I might even join them again next week.

Next year I'm shopping early. I had no idea that Target stops selling ski stuff in November. The ski season doesn't even start until the end of December. How dumb is that?!
