Dh and I volunteered to help dissect cow eyes in Megan's class last week.
The teacher split the children into 5 groups, one adult per 4 children. My group followed the written directions exactly. Every cut I made was precise and perfect. Step-by-step my group removed the pieces, examined them and took notes. We used the lens as a magnifying glass, made a diagram of the different pieces using appropriate colors, shone light into the tapetum and I quizzed them individually on the anatomy, physiology and vocabulary as we went along.
I noticed dh's group was a bit loud, distractingly actually. We ignored them and moved on. It wasn't until I heard him say, "Who wants to squeeze the goo out next?" "Whoo-hoo! Look how far yours squirted!!!" followed by cheers and applause that I payed attention.
A little girl looked at Megan and said, "I wish I was in your dad's group."
Humph.

Dh's group.
