too soon

My most favorite teacher in the nursing program had a baby girl on Tuesday, at 28 weeks. I'm stunned.

She is the best, by far, teacher in the program. My clinical group was incredibly lucky to have had her last rotation. She worked her tail off to find us awesome patients and got us into amazing procedures: the cardiac cath lab, open heart surgeries, numerous times in the OR, ED, oncology. She made sure that one of us was involved in every single interesting procedure going on in the entire hospital.

She divided us up and ran up and down the 7 flights of stairs hundreds of times a shift. She was always right there when we needed her.

When the announcement was made yesterday we were all gathered in the atrium. A collective *gasp* was heard as the words left the instructors mouth, "she had the baby last night." We all quickly did the math in our heads, April...May...June..July...oh no. It's far too soon. :-(

Oh dear. I am very concerned for your teacher's baby, and I'll keep her in my prayers. I hope you hear some good news about how the baby is doing.
